Training Staff and Community Doulas

At MILK Maternity, we are committed to improving maternal and infant health outcomes by providing comprehensive training for staff and offering trained doulas to support community initiatives. Here’s how we can collaborate to make a significant impact:

Training Staff

We work with institutions dedicated to enhancing maternal and infant health within their communities. Our training programs are designed to equip your staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional maternal support. We do not partner with direct sales companies, ensuring our focus remains on impactful, community-centered health outcomes.

Our Process:

  • Initial Contact: Whether you reach out to us or we identify a potential partnership, our first step is to discuss our aligned interests and the need for doula support within your community. Contact us at info@milkmaternity.com or call (713)384-6381 to start the conversation.

  • Program Development: We can assist in developing your maternal support program or simply train your existing doulas. For detailed information on our doula training, please refer to the next section.

  • Paperwork Completion: Once we establish a partnership, we'll complete the necessary paperwork to formalize our collaboration.

  • Scheduling Training: Training sessions are tailored to your staff's current knowledge level and certification requirements. Sessions can range from 1 week to 2 months.

Training Benefits:

  • Customized Programs: Each training program is customized to meet the specific needs of your institution and community.

  • Comprehensive Education: Our training covers all aspects of maternal support, ensuring your staff is well-equipped to handle various scenarios.

  • Certification: Staff members can become certified, enhancing their professional credentials and the quality of care they provide.

Providing Trained Doulas

MILK Maternity specializes in training lifestyle doulas who are well-versed in holistic maternal care. Our doulas are prepared to support mothers by addressing lifestyle factors that impact health outcomes.

Our Process:

  • Initial Contact: Contact us to discuss your current needs and schedule. We will match you with the appropriate doulas or coordinate training in your area if necessary.

  • Doula Training: Our doulas undergo extensive training, requiring a certain number of hours for certification. This includes practical experience gained by partnering with your initiatives, allowing our doulas to work hands-on with your mothers.

  • Ongoing Support: Many of our doulas are available to continue providing support even after they complete their required hours, ensuring continuity of care.

Lifestyle Doula Training Includes:

  • Holistic Care: Training in nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and other lifestyle factors that impact maternal health.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Emphasis on culturally sensitive care tailored to the needs of diverse populations.

  • Advocacy and Support: Skills to advocate for mothers within the healthcare system and provide emotional and physical support throughout pregnancy and postpartum

Coordinating Doula Training in Your Area

If we don't have trained doulas in your vicinity, we can coordinate training sessions in your area to fill this role.

Our Process:

  • Needs Assessment: We conduct a thorough assessment of your current needs and the specific requirements for doulas in your community.

  • Scheduling and Logistics: We handle all scheduling and logistics to ensure a seamless training experience. Training sessions can be customized based on the availability and needs of your staff.

  • Training Delivery: Our expert trainers deliver comprehensive training programs, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to provide high-quality maternal support.
